
Walker, Anthony “Tony” June 9, 1964 ~ September 24, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tony Walker, of Hagersville, in his 62nd year, after a long battle with illness, passed away surrounded by family at the West Haldimand General Hospital.
Tony was born in Buffalo NY at the Millard Fillmore Hospital on June 9, 1964 to Orville and Genevie Walker.
He spent his life driving trucks, and racing cars. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br 142 of Dunnville, dedicating his time volunteering and raising money for the veterans, he also volunteered at the Optimist Club also in Dunnville. He was a member of the Warrior Society, and was a volunteer firefighter for many years in Quebec.
Tony was a loving son, brother, uncle, father, spouse and grandpa. He is remembered by his family as a strong protector, compassionate with a big heart, and always willing to lend a hand.
He is predeceased by his father Orville Walker, brother Ralph Walker, step-father Louis Hines, brother-in-law John Murphy and step-sister Linda Hines.
Survived by his mother Genevie Walker-Schutten (John), sisters Bernadette Ellison (Don), Debbie Vander Heide (Stan), sister-in-law Cathy Walker, step-siblings Dorothy Coulter (Mike), Donna Hines, Helen Audette (Paul), Doreen Hines, and Laurie Murphy. His spouse Jodie Horn-Walker, his son Anthony Walker (Kiona), and step-sons Danny Longpre, Patrick Longpre, Michael Longpre (Chantal). Along with Laika and many other grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.
We want to say a special thank you to Anson Place Nurses and Staff as well as West Haldimand General Hospital Nurses and Staff and to Dr. Phillips for their compassionate care.
Visitation will be held at JW Hart Funeral Home, 113 Lock St. East, Dunnville on Tuesday, Sept 30th from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. Funeral will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday Oct 1st at 11:00 am with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery. Refreshments to follow at the Dunnville Legion. In Lieu of flower donations we ask that you make a donation in his name to the Poppy Fund at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 142.

So sorry to hear of Tony’s passing, we went school together all the way through and always considered him a friend. I hadn’t seen him in years but thought about him often and saying of us old friends pondered what he was up to so these years. Prayers for his family in this time of grieving.
