Tanya VanderHeide.
With deep love and gratitude for her life, we share the passing of Tanya VanderHeide, who went to be with the Lord peacefully in her sleep on July 5, 2025, in her 38th year.
Though she faced the challenges of disability, Tanya was truly a precious gift from God. Her gentle spirit, joyful nature, and radiant smile brought light to everyone who knew her. She found delight in life’s simple blessings—whether tossing her favorite ball, laughing with those she loved, or bursting every balloon she could get her hands on. Tanya especially cherished music and never tired of watching her favorite movie, Disney’s Cinderella.
Tanya leaves behind a family who adored her deeply: her mother and stepfather, Christine and Perry Cavers; her father, Bill VanderHeide; Grandmother Valerie Grit; her siblings, Mark and Estelle VanderHeide, Kim and Kevin Vanberkel, Brian VanderHeide, Twin sister Teri and Alex Markovic; her step-siblings, Shawn and Marivic Cavers, and Michelle and Brad Miller; as well as 13 beloved nieces and nephews.
Our heartfelt thanks to Deer Park Villa in Grimsby, where Tanya made her home for the past 13 years. The compassion and loving care she received there was a true blessing—she couldn’t have been in better hands. Tanya’s life was one of pure joy, unwavering love, and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Visitation will be held at St. Ann’s Community Church, 5425 Twenty Mile Rd, Saint Anns, ON on Sunday July 13th from 3:00 to 7:00 pm. The family will attend a private graveside committal followed by a public Memorial Service at the Church on Monday July 14, 2025 at 11:30 am. Memorial donations to Deer Park Villa would be appreciated.
“Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.”
— James 1:12 NIV
