John Taylor
John Beverley Taylor Passed peacefully with family at his bedside on December 10, 2024 at the Haldimand War Memorial Hospital in Dunnville.
Born in Chatham Ontario on February 29th 1944, John is part of a big family and was one of 13 siblings. He is predeceased by the love of his life Shirley (2017), his parents Elva and Gilbert, his sisters, June, Irene Mary, Brenda and his granddaughter Megan. He was a loving father to three, Matt (Lee-Ellen), Melinda (Steve) and Johnny. He will be missed dearly by his brothers and sisters Jean, Stan, Allan, Robert, Gerry, Donna, Terry and Marylin. John will be missed by his grandchildren Lynda (April), Cecily (Billy), Melody (Adam), Sean (Katie), Zack (Brittany), Chad (Chloe), Alexis and Johnathon. He had a massive family of nieces, nephews, cousins, great-grandchildren that will miss him dearly.
During his 80 years here on earth John was a character. He was known for telling stories. All different kinds of stories including stories of his past, things he experienced, things he saw and constantly talked about how much he loved his family. John was known for his jokes. He would start out a joke as if it were a true story, he would have you hooked on listening just to send out a punch line and make you all laugh. John even laughed at his own jokes and the fact that he got you and his laugh was just so infectious and contagious. When he laughed, you couldn’t help but laugh too. He was a wonderful man with a kind heart who will be missed dearly by everyone who knew him.
During Johns stay at the Dunnville Hospital he had many nurses, staff and doctors who helped care for him. His family and loved ones would like to thank them all, especially Dr. Kobah, for the amazing care and kindness towards not only John, but his family as well.
Cremation for John has already taken place. There will be a small service to place John at his final resting place with Shirley at the graveyard on Diltz road in Dunnville in the summertime. The date and time will come later. The same day there will be a celebration of life at his son Matt (Lee-Ellen) trailer. All details will be sent out at a later date once confirmed. Donations are not expected but if you feel the need you can send them directly to the funeral home or his son Matt. All donations will be used towards Johns Funeral and celebration of life. Being so far away, I never spent a lot of time with Uncle John in his later years.
But I do remember years ago when we’d visit, he was always a character, always telling jokes and smiling and laughing.
That’s how I will remember him.
Sending all my love to the family.
Annette xoxo
