Summerfield, Charlie. Peacefully at the Haldimand War Memorial Hospital Dunnville on Friday August 11, 2023 in his 87th year.
Charlie Summerfield is survived by his loving wife Leona of 66 years. Loving father to Al (Liz), Lori, and Jim (Sheila). Proud and loving Grandfather of 9 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, son Jack, daughters Joyce and Carol, and grandsons James and Allan.
Charlie and Leona were married September 8, 1956 and anyone who knew Charlie was witness to his passion for vegetable farming. He spent many years following in his parents’ and brothers’ footsteps as a vendor at the Dunnville, Welland and Port Colborne markets while also making many friends during his time as an employee of Atlas Steel, Welland Works. Charlie and Leona enjoyed many years of travel as well as 19 winters enjoying the Sunny State of Florida.
Friends may call at JW Hart Funeral Home, Dunnville on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral and Committal services will be held in the Chapel Wednesday August 16, 2023 at 11:00 am followed by a Celebration of Life at the Royal Canadian Legion immediately following. I’m sorry to hear of his passing. He was such a great guy, so friendly and easy to be around. He was a customer of mine for ten years at the Co-op and I’d bump into him once in a while. Rest in peace Charlie🌹

Charlie was such a wonderful person and will be missed by many especially at the euchre table.
I am sure, once settled, he will be teaching them a few heavenly euchre tricks up there.
This is such a hard time and there are no words that make you feel less pain, just know if any of us could we would try to help relieve you of some of it.
