SPRINGER, Theresa “Terri”
Beloved wife of Louis. Dear mother of John (Stephanie) and daughter-in-law Jodi (Randy). Loving grandmother to Tyler (Jami), Chad (Alannah), Heidi, Lucas, and great grandson Blake.
Dear sister of Henry (Bev), Veronica Mangelsen (Gary), sister-in-law Doreen Czepek and Betty Czepek (Dave), Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her son Robert, sisters Wilma Rose, Maria Czepek, Maria Lombardy, brothers Fred, John and Louis Czepek, and brother-in-law Hubert Rose.
Born in Bakonyoszlop, Hungary on April 9, 1937, to the late George and Helen Czepek. Theresa immigrated to Canada in 1957 from Germany with her family to reunite with brothers Henry and Louis, who were living in Canada already. She settled in Dunnville where she would remain the rest of her life. It was in Dunnville where she met the man with whom she would share the rest of her life, Louis Springer. On July 18, 1959 the two married, celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary this past summer.
Theresa spent many of her days volunteering at St. Vincent DePaul Thrift Store and the Dunnville Hospital Gift Shop. She was an active member of the Catholic Women’s League at St. Michaels Parish including being a member of the choir. She loved watching her sons and her grandchildren play sports. She cheered them on whether they were at the hockey arena, the soccer field, or the dance recital stage. Theresa had a passion for watching tennis. If the games couldn’t be watched live on television, she would set them to record so she wouldn’t miss any of Roger Federer’s matches, her favourite tennis player. She also enjoyed reading, checking out multiple books from the library every couple weeks.
Theresa passed away peacefully on December 20, 2024 at Haldimand War Memorial Hospital, in Dunnville, Ontario, surrounded by loved ones. She will forever be missed by family and friends. The family wishes to thank the nursing staff at the Haldimand War Memorial Hospital for their kindness and support over the past two months. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 201 Alder St. West Dunnville on Saturday January 4, 2025 at 11:00 am with reception to follow in the Parish Hall.
