Death
Sider, Jeffrey Douglas. It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Jeffrey Sider on Saturday March 25, 2023 in his 60th year.
Jeff sider predeceased by his loving parents Douglas and Janice Sider (Goss). Proud father to Randi Benson (Brandon) and Brandon Sider. Grandfather to Carter, Adalynn and Alayna Benson. Caring brother of Jody Davidson. He will be greatly missed by his nieces, nephews family and friends he made along the way. Jeff was a man of few words but had a heart of gold. He was a rock to his family and would do anything for them.
Private cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in his honour to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada

My deepest sympathies. Jeff was my friendly and knowledgeable curmudgeon at work. I always enjoyed talking with him and eating lunch with him. He was very much one of my CTFS family and he will be missed by everyone.

I have learned and grown so much while working alongside him over the last 8+ years – he was truly a solid, all around quality person. May his memory live on and be celebrated by those who knew him.
Jeff was my first “real” boss when he opened his computer store in Dunnville. He spent many hours talking to me (when I should have been working) about what it meant to be a real-world software developer, gently supported me (a kid of 16 years) on my dream of eventually becoming a software developer. He also taught me how to build a computer; a skill I transferred to my own son.
He was generous with his time by taking the time to spend it with a kid. I remember him as an inspiration, a mentor, an entrepreneur, and as a wonderful person.
I’ll always be appreciative of Jeff, and I have never forgotten his kindness and thought of him often as I took the time to mentor people early in their careers as well. I often think that “You never know the impact you have on another person” and I highly doubt he could appreciate what an impact he had on mine.

My deepest condolences to Jeff’s family. Jeff was a kind soul who was always on hand to help out. I loved his wicked sense of humour, his laugh and his soft tone of voice that would calm anyone down. Jeff will always be in our hearts and will never be forgotten. I hope he knew how much he is loved and cherished by us all who were fortunate enough to know him and work with him.
Jeff Sider was the bass player in my first band “The Hats” along with Darren Minor (drums), Don Ashley (guitar). We were in Grade 9 and performed at teen parties, adult parties (one that got shut down due to noise complaints), and even played on a float in the Mudcat festival parade. While I have great memories of those early gigs, my most treasured memory of Jeff was playing the Beatles song “All My Loving” In grade 9. We were so excited at the sound of this “new” band; we had just discovered, we both danced joyously and sang along. Jeff was more than a band mate. I’ve never forgotten that moment. I’m proud to say he was my friend. It breaks my heart to think he’s gone but in my heart, Jeff will never be forgotten. I’m sure Jeff is now reunited with Darren as a rhythm section in a heavenly band. RIP Jeff 🎸🎵

Sincere condolences for the family. Jeff was a great guy. I enjoyed working with Jeff for many years at Canadian Tire, We sat beside each other. Jeff was a quiet guy, but when he spoke everyone listened, because he really understood everything that was going on and had awesome solutions to design challenges. He will be missed.
