Death
Funeral
It is with great sadness I announce the passing of my Dad, Philip P. P. Phelps, March 14th 2021, at the lake in Lowbanks, a place held dearly in his heart.A much loved Father, brother and uncle. Dad leaves me behind – Kassidy his daughter and my partner Rico Braun. His fur baby Maddy. His first love, my mom Debbie Ragogna; his girlfriend Christine Bisson, Brothers; Dan, Bob, Jerry. Sisters; Pamela, Diane, Sue, Bonnie, Lyn and their spouses. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Lorne (1969) and Mary Ann Phelps (2020), brother Douglas (2020).
Living in Lowbanks most of his life, Phil joined the Army shortly after graduating Dunnville Secondary School. He always said the best part of the military was jumping out of airplanes. He took up Sheet Metal trade, working at Lancaster Group, for the last 36 years, in which he had the opportunity of traveling Canada. Phil spent 10 years volunteering with South Haldimand Station #11 Firehall, playing a major role in the trophy wins for their bike build in Haldimand Motors Great Tricycle Race. He had a natural way of commanding a room. His laughter, sense of humour and his wit, kept us all entertained. His family and his friends were an important part of his life, always willing to help where needed. Family celebrations, bonfires (which he was the King of), his Harley and quading were the simple joys of his life. I will miss you forever, love your little girl.
Visitation will be held at JW Hart Funeral Home, Dunnville (905)774-6335 on Saturday March 20, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00pm. Those wishing to attend must call to RSVP a time slot. Masks, Social Distancing and all Covid19 Protocols are required. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation to the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated. Kassidy and Family.
Although I had not seen Phil in years I have fond memories of him. He was an amazing kind soul. Rest easy Phil. You will be missed.
Hello Phelps families, Donna and I send along our sincerest sympathy to each of you. Wishing for you the peace that surpasses understanding.
Phil, you will be forever missed, we had more good times together than I can remember. I will always remember the caring nature of your laugh and your nedneck way!! I was proud to call you my friend ,Love you man, Rest In Peace ,see you on the other side buddy!
I am so sorry to hear about Phil. I just saw him a few weeks ago and he was his normal jovial self. I am so sorry for your loss. My deepest condolences. A reminder that we need to live life to the fullest as we never know when our time is up. My heart aches for his family.
It’s with great sadness we say our goodbyes our best Buddy. Phil and Randy Arsenault have travelled a life long journey, having shared stages in life together. I’ve been very fortunate to be part of their strong friendship, commratery, celebrations and life’s disappointments. Phil allowed me into his world, taking me into the fold, sharing his deep appreciation and happiness for Randy. I’m blessed to have had Phil make a difference in my own life stages. I still see him slicing his hand down saying ‘that’s enough from the feelings dept!’ I can see his intense eyes looking down on me, barking out the orders for me to ‘stay on task!!’ We’re extremely fortunate to have shared in his pride for his daughter Kassidy, his sisters and silly life stories. He was part of our fabric. He will be missed each and every day, but never forgotten. It’s our honour.
❤ We Love You Man ❤
Our thoughts are with your family. We always enjoyed Phil stopping by our lawn mower shop, either for a little repair or parts and pieces to soup up his Harley Davidson lawn mower, his own original design. Enjoyed the conversation and his unique zest for life. We will miss him deeply.
Keep your memories always in mind and share as often as necessary.
Kassidy & family, so very sorry for your loss.

For our grieving family: Don’t think of him as gone away, his journey just begun.Life holds so many facets this earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting from the sorrows and the tears, in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years .
Think how he must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadness can really pass away.
And think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched for nothing loved is ever lost and he was loved so much.
Phil , Dan and I , love you and will miss you very much.
We had only seen Phil twice recently after many years of losing touch but when we did he had that same wonderful smile and bubbly personality that he always had. Phil is a soul that will never be forgotten in our minds. May the wonderful memories help Phil’s family and closest friends you through these times. You will always be missed Phil
So very sorry for your loss kassidy.
So very sorry for your loss, Kassidy, Debbie and family. Huge hugs to you both! Our thoughts are with you now and forever.
I haven’t seen Phil in years. I believe the last time we randomly ran into each other was at the convenience store on Concession when he and Deb were beaming as I got to meet their brand new daughter, Kassidy, as they took her home for the first time! What a special time to have a few moments to catch up!
I’ll remember fun times with the ole high school gang of friends. He was always fun to be around and loved “Pink Cadillac” cranked up!! RIP Phil!
Sincere condolences to his family and closest friends.
Phil was always outgoing and good for a laugh He will be missed. Hugs to you all.
Kassidy and Deb and all of Phil’s family and friends. My deepest condolences to you. My heart breaks for you all <3

So sorry for the loss of Phil. Phil and I apprenticed together at Lancaster Sheet Metal back in the good old days. We had good times away from work also going to concerts and Phil brining Billy the Bladder. Phil you will be missed but not forgotten. Your laugh, your sense of humor we will always remember. Now you and Billy H can watch over us from above. RIP my Brother.
We didn’t know Phil well or for very long, but he was always so pleasant and friendly, and never minded when my son with special needs would reach for his hand and then refuse to stop shaking it or would just quietly hold it. Garratt and I are sending our most heartfelt condolences to Phil’s family and friends.
Being raised in Lowbanks, it went without saying what a really big family it is. It always hurts when one of the family leaves us. I remember Phil as being larger than life, with a big personality you never forget. Funny and kind, he always left an impression on you. Memories in Lowbanks of days on the beach and bonfires and Phil is always apart of those memories, living in all of our hearts. To his heartbroken family, I am so very sorry for your pain and loss.
He will never be forgotten by anyone who knew him.
We hold you in our thoughts and hearts.

Phil you will truly be missed. Anytime we would meet up, even if it was by chance, you would always portray a genuine honesty of character. You lived life as you believed and never tried to compete or put others down. Yet you always caught everyone’s attention with a great sense of humor and once again, your honesty. I will miss you as a coworker and as a friend. None of us were able to say goodbye, the greatest tragedy in all of this. Peace brother.

An incredible loss of a family cornerstone. Our deepest condolences and sympathy to all of Phil’s family and friends. Phil was the uncle (and great uncle) every storybook would write about, personified. The void Phil leaves, while eternally painful is a testament to the man he was.
My little girl will never forget you, Uncle Phil. Thank you for the imprint you’ve made.

From reading Kassidy’s words and the condolences written, Philip remained true to his kind nature and personality that he shared as a young child when he was a student in my Grade 3 classroom at AMMS. Philip has left joy in many hearts as he passed though.
Words fail to express our sorrow for your loss. Please know we are with you all through this difficult time.
Your reputation preceded you sir. The stories I was told about you before meeting you were pretty hilarious and you lived up to all of them but so much more. I was so impressed with how much of a wonderful soul you were, nothing but kind and and sweet and absolutely loyal to all of your friends and family and we all were to you for that very reason. Truly an amazing person that I was blessed to have met.
May you R.I P. until we all meet up again for a big bonfire in the sky with a few bevies. Cheers buddy. You will be missed.
P.S. Try not to burn anything up there and please remember your wings are flammable. Love ya.
I apprenticed under Phil’s supervision on a number of jobs when I worked at L.S.M.
I fondly recall the practical jokes he and Gord Halcrow would play on each other, especially the one time where Phil filled Gords tool box with expanding foam!! Gord was not happy with that one.
Phil’s easy going nature and sense of humour always made a tough and dirty job easy. My condolences to the family.
