It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our father on September 26, 2024 in his 88th year.
Husband of the late Elizabeth (Harvey), loving father of Paul (Lynn) MacDonald and John (Deborah) MacDonald. A very proud Grandfather of Daytona MacDonald, Layla MacDonald, Angus MacDonald and Callum MacDonald. Dear brother of Frances Kellner (MacDonald) and late siblings, Steve MacDonald, William MacDonald, Jim Mac Donald and Elizabeth MacDonald. Son of Arthur and Hilda MacDonald (Street)
Sandy was dear to his extended daughter Sharon (Charlie) Hendershott , his late friends Ron and Betty Bunch and dear friend, Rhonda Nuell.
Sandy grew up on the MacDonald family farm in Cayuga, a place he would frequently revisit to share old times with his brothers, sister and mother. He was loved by many at Beauty Industries in Hamilton, where he spent over 40 years working and would retire at the age of 65.
Our father had a contagious love of life that would bring joy to everyone in his presence. He loved visiting with his grandchildren and never turned down a good game of street hockey or cribbage. So sorry to hear of Sandys passing. I will always remember his story, when he first had dementia, of getting lost in the mall for forty minutes until Liz found him. I respected him for his dedication to his family and his humour when faced with difficult situations. He was a very good person.
