MacArthur : Donald Francis
The family of Don is deeply saddened to share the news of his passing on July 7, 2026. Don was a beloved father to Angela MacArthur, Neil Johnston, Lori Johnston, and Sharon MacArthur. He was a proud Poppy to Anthony Freeman, Lacy Powell, and a cherished grandfather to Delany Davenport. Don was also a great-grandfather to Jack. Don will be dearly missed by his siblings and their families, as well as his circle of friends.
Don was predeceased by his parents, Don and Rosemary MacArthur, his brothers, Richard and Pat, as well as Lynn Lance MacArthur.
Don was a dedicated and hardworking individual who rose from being a truck driver to owning his own trucking business, “Bartlett Transport,” based in Port Colborne. He had a deep love for the outdoors, particularly fishing, and cherished spending time with family and friends. Don was also known for occasionally enjoying a brown pop.
A celebration of life will be held at the Lowbanks Community Centre, 2366 North Shore Dr., Lowbanks, on September 21 from 1-4 pm. Online condolences can be shared at www.jwhartfuneralhome.com.

Thinking of the family at this sad time. I know my dad would have been waiting for him with a cold brown pop when he arrived in heaven. I have such fond memories of the story telling involving the antics of Don and Andy and the rest of the MacArthur clan.

We were very shocked and saddened to hear the news. Going to miss seeing him on the riding lawnmower or hear it running. Don was a Diamond in the rough. He loved his family dearly.
