Lake,Walter Joseph “Wally” ~ June 27, 1931 – August 12, 2022
It is with broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Wally at 91 years of age on August 12, 2022. Predeceased by his beloved wife Doris of 55 years (2005), son Lloyd (2012) and Grandson David (1985). Cherished husband of Linda Lake of 16 years. Beloved father of Carolyn (Tom) Farrer, Gary (Colleen)Lake and Cathy (Edward) Paquette. Step-father to Cynthia (Joe) Clark and Joel. Dearest Grandpa of Jeffrey, Gregory, Kyle (Fran), Aaron (Melissa), Sarah (Tim) Farrer and Michael Paquette. Step-Grandpa of Tanya (Graham) Cobb and Eric (Eva) Wasylenko, Kaylee (Harrison) Piper, Jaycee (Corey)Waters and Candace (Adam) deBoer. Wally was the proud Great-Grandpa of Joshua, Scarlett, Ocean, Elijah, Isaiah, Greyson, Charlee, and Oaklyn. Step Great-Grandpa Of Elliot, Delilah, Freya and Imogen. He was the son of the late Earl and Susanne Lake. Predeceased by his siblings Mark, Leonard, Elmer, Irene, Clara, Beatrice, Agnes and Margeritte.
Dad was known to many as the “Chief”. He was a hard worker first in Ottawa working 13 years for the CPR, then in Windsor where he was a retiree Of Chrysler’s after 30 years. He was a man of faith and a long time parishioner and Usher of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. He was an Honourary Brother Knight of Bishop John T. Kidd Council 4924. Dad’s love of music knew no bounds. He loved nothing more than to play his guitar and sing, especially bluegrass, ANYWHERE!!
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life Mass will be celebrated in Ottawa on Friday, September 23, 2022, with inurnment to follow at Notre Dame Cemetery. Online condolences and photos at jwhartfuneralhome.com

Our most sincere condolences to the family. Wally was everybody’s Uncle. We spent quite a few hours enjoying his bluegrass music and playing guitar along with him at mom’s (Marys house).

We are consumed with sadness to learn of Wally’s passing,
The immeasurable loss of someone dear to us is never easy,
He was truly a bright light in our lives and our Family will miss him dearly.
A master of his instruments, his music had the power to make us smile,
Inspire us to dance, heal many hearts and lift many spirits.
His Life was a song and Love was his music.
