On the morning of Thursday April 25th 2024, Annie Elisabeth Knol (DeBoer) passed away peacefully at Grandview Lodge surrounded by her family in her 97th year.
Annie will be greatly missed by her loving family. Beloved Mother of Gerda Smith, Matt (Lillian) Knol and Rein (Maria) Knol. A wonderful Oma to Sabrina (Marcel) Morgenstern, Allison Smith, Brittany Knol (Kyle Jackman) and Jordan (Nikki) Knol. Predeceased by daughter Elisa Knol and beloved husband Arie Knol. Predeceased by her parents Douwe and Johanna Margaretha DeBoer (Brunsveld), brothers Dick DeBoer and Cor DeBoer.
Annie Knol was born in Voorshoten, the Netherlands on September 15, 1927. Annie married Arie Knol on August 14, 1946. They immigrated to Canada in March 1949. They worked on Mr Williams farm outside of Dunnville until Arie started his job at the Dunnville Dairy. They purchased their home on Bird Road in Dunnville February 1958, where they grew fruits and vegetables and ran a small pig farm. Annie worked for many years as a hairdresser. Annie loved music, she enjoyed playing piano and for many years singing with the Sweet Adelines. The family would like to send our heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Grandview Lodge for their loving care for over 11 years of her life. The family will be holding a private celebration of life to honor Annies life and their loving memories.
