Christopher Steven Keesmaat
August 31, 1968- May 3, 2022
With heavy hearts, the family of Chris announce his sudden passing at the age of 53. Son of Ann Keesmaat and the late John Keesmaat. Brother of Lucas, Rebecca (Cameron) and Sarah (Kyle). He leaves behind his two children, Jaymieson (Patrick) and Clinton. Uncle to Brittany, Johnny, Taylor, Asher and Barrett. Chris will be remembered by his long-time friend, Tara, uncles, aunts, cousins and countless friends.
Chris had a sense of humour like no other and lifted the spirits of anyone he spoke to. He was an encourager of good deeds and always called a spade, a spade. Chris was a Jack-of-all-Trades in his own right; proudly having spent most of his working years as an ironworker (Journeyman Ironworker Local 721-Toronto and Local 45-Jersey City, NJ) and also enjoyed cooking, fishing, hunting, canning, music, beekeeping and raising the odd chicken. His family takes great comfort in knowing that his father, grandparents; Arie and Frances Keesmaat, Elizabeth Silversmith and Harry Johnson, cousins; Daykah, George and Jeff have all welcomed him home. Heaven is so blessed to have you, Christopher, you were one of a kind.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, 161 Queen Street, Dunnville on Sunday September 4th from 2:00 to 5:00pm. Donations in his honor can be made to the Southridge Community Church at 201 Glenridge Ave, St. Catharines or any Salvation Army. Online condolences jwhartfuneralhome.com
