Malick Wedrel Joseph. May 19, 1995 ~ June 10, 2024
We are deeply saddened at the loss of Malick during the battle to liberate Ukraine on June 10, 2024. Cherished son of Sherry Bousfield and step dad Ron Bousfield. Lovingly remembered by step brothers Jason (Carla) Bousfield and Joseph Bousfield. Dearly loved by his father Anthony Joseph and step brother Michael. Beloved grandson of George and the late Beverly Poyton. Fondly remembered by his nephews Easton and Noah and niece Jayden Bousfield. Sadly missed by his aunts and uncles Ken Poyton (Peggy), Fred Poyton (Kathy) and George aka “Moe” Poyton. Cousin to many Justin, Dustin, Trey, Chayann, Dalton, Davis, Janal, Jasmine, Brandon, Brittany, Gavin, Bailey and so many more. Proudly remembered and missed by his best friend since kindergarten, Josh Griffin.
Malick’s adventurous spirit lead him down many paths, including joining the Air Cadets at a young age which perhaps engrained a sense of duty and service within him as later in life he joined the Canfield Volunteer Firefighters. Malick was a Certified Scuba Diver and a member of the Port Maitland Sailing Club as well as working on his Pilots Licence. He had many passions in life and even seemingly mundane tasks such as rebuilding an engine and putting it in the car, they became lessons and skills that were mainly self taught. The prospect of learning something new regardless of the challenge was enough for Malick to embark on a new adventure.
The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 142, Dunnville will be conducting a Veteran’s Funeral Service in the Lower Hall Sunday July 14, 2024 at 2:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will follow in the Upstairs Hall from 3:00 to 5:00 pm and all are welcome to attend. Memorial donations to the RCL Br. 142 in Malick’s memory would be greatly appreciated. No words can comfort you right now family is a chain link together for life. When one link is gone family never the same again but need live on for him. He was a sweet funny compassionate person we all very proud of who he was love you
I met Malick through Josh and liked him immediately. Very kind and respecful soul. He always said hello and goodbye. It saddens me that he is no longer with us on earth, but im sure he is brightening up faces in heaven. So glad i got to know him 💖

I was saddened to learn of Malick’s passing! He was in my kindergarten class at Thompson Creek! He was such a kind and gentle fellow! Please accept my sincere sympathy. Cherish your memories of Malick!
