James Albert Hammond “Big Jim”
July, 9 1962 – January 16, 2026

James Albert Hammond “Big Jim”, has suddenly passed away and is now in the arms of many loved ones that are waiting his arrival in heaven. Cherished son of the late Carson and Florence Hammond. Beloved by his many siblings; Larry (Linda) Hammond, Joan (late Ron) Atkinson, Stanley (Jenny) Hammond, late Mary (late Rick) Grant, Ralph (Deidre) Hammond, Irene (late Rod) Lockhart, late David (Belinda) Hammond. Lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family. Jim leaves behind many who loved him, including his dear long life friends Fred, Sammy, Sandra and Janice, who will miss him dearly.

Jim shared countless good times with those around him. He truly was the man of the hour someone who knew how to celebrate life and have fun doing it. His presence at a gathering was impossible to miss, and once he arrived, the energy changed.  Jim leaves behind stories and adventures that will continue to be told, some best remembered as a kind of a good old fish tale that bring laughter and smiles. He will always be remembered for the joy, laughter, and unforgettable moments he shared with so  many.

Jim lived large in every way, not just in size, but in heart. He loved good food, good company, and a good laugh, and he had a gift for making people feel welcome. He was a skilled bodyman and drywaller who took pride in hard work and doing things right. Jim’s kindness, humour, and larger-than-life spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Cremation has already taken place and burial and celebration of life will take place at a later date. Please hold your love ones close. Make a feast of a dinner and raise a glass in pure love and spirt of Jim.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you consider donating to the Salvation Army or making a monetary or food donation to a local food bank, would be greatly appreciated and will help many in need. Jim would have loved knowing that these acts of generosity provided comfort, nourishment, and food for the heart and soul.
