Gifford, Mary Jean (nee Butler). It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Jean on December 23. 2022.
Beloved wife to Terry Gifford. Loving mother to David & Susan Butler, Rick & Sara Rose, Cynthia, Aleta Rose (Jay McFarlane). Cherished Grandmother “Munga” to Blaire and Spencer Gallant, Shayne Butler( Ally Mitchell). Jordan Rose (Devon Dulmage) and Jackson Rose.
She will be deeply missed by brothers, Bill & Joanne Butler, Mike & Sharon Butler, and sister Cindy Butler & Kevin Maw. Predeceased by her parents George and Ella Bulter, Mother & Father in law, Shirley and Ron Gifford, and her brother John Butler. Sadly missed by her brother and sister in laws, Todd & Sherry Gifford, Darrin & Chrissy Gifford, and Shaun & Kim Gifford. Survived by many nieces and nephews and extended family that always held a special place in her heart. Also survived by many great friends, and her special extended children, Duncan, Drake, Davis & Mitchell Hart, Megan and Avery Clark and the late Megan Hart.
Visitation at JW Hart Funeral Home, Dunnville on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8pm. Chapel Service Saturday December 31, 2022 at 11:00 am. Interment Dunn United Cemetery. Special Thanks to Dr. Kamouna and staff at Dunnville Hospital and the St Catharines General Hospital, ICU Ward. I was schocked to hear that Mary-Jean passed away. Even though we haven’t seen each other for so many years, I had always thought of her many times. Then, when we reconnected through FB, it was as if I reconnected with Uncle George again.

She was such a dear cousin who always went that extra mile to make sure everyone was looked after and taken care of without giving a second thought to herself. M.J. had the most infections laugh that I think I’ve ever heard, more often than not at the expense of herself.
She will be remembered by many as th life of the party and her presence when out with Terry at social events will be dearly missed forever more.

Mary Jean will be truly missed by so many people. She was a huge part of my early childhood, always packed all of us up in the station wagon we would make a trip to A&P. We had to wait in the car and if we were good, she would take us to the Avondale on cedar and we got waxed teeth. One of many memories. Thank you Mary Jean. Condolences to all of the family.

Mary Jean and her family have a special place in my heart dating back over 60 years when we lived side by side on Eastvale Place in East Hamilton. We were very close and shared many happy memories. Times and memories I shall never forget.
