Joyce Diane Forrest May 24, 1958 ~ December 9, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Joyce Forrest (nee St. John), at the age of 67 on December 9th, 2025 surrounded by her family at the Juravinski Hospital.
Predeceased by her parents, Gladys & Earl St. John and brother Ken. She is survived by her sister Carol Mulder (Will). Devoted wife and designated driver for 42 years to Kalvin, and wonderful mother to Sarah, Kelly, Tyler (Rosalyn) and Grandma to Grace McKeag. She also leaves many cousins, nieces and nephews who will greatly miss her.
Joyce will fondly be remembered for her caring personality. She always went above and beyond to be there for her family and friends in their time of need. Joyce loved to host, whether it be euchre parties, the annual May Birthday Celebrations or OHA Backyard BBQ’s, she made sure you left with a full stomach.
After getting diagnosed with cancer in 2017, Joyce made sure that she would make the best out of every situation. Even on aggressive treatments she made it to Family Vacations every summer, a bucket list trip to Ireland and Boston to make lasting memories with family and friends. Her family can only hope to continue to present the amount of courage and strength she carried with her in their own lives.
We would like to thank the caring staff at Juravinski Hospital, especially Philomena, Jeff & Mira. Your compassion will never be forgotten.
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 17th, at the Port Colborne Legion from 2-6pm. Cremation has taken place. Online condolences jwhartfuneralhome.com

Hank and I are sending our heartfelt condolences to you and your family on Joyce’s passing. You are in our thoughts and prayers
Aunty Joyce was the strongest woman I know. Her unshakeable spirit, infectious sense of humour and boundless love has touched the hearts of many. I am so honoured to have been included in the celebration of May babies. She watched me become an adult and was there to see me graduate which holds so much weight and still means so much to me. She has left a permanent impact on my heart, and I will always cherish both the silly and the serious conversations that I got to have with her. Sending my deepest condolences and love to all.
There isn’t enough space in the world to write all the many wonderful things about Joyce and all the memories I have of her. My entire grade school year, she was a 2nd mom. If I wasn’t at my house, I was at hers. Her laugh is contagious and her love is beyond measure. As Sarah and I continued off to high school – Joyce was always there for us. Her doors open at anytime and really let us be the kids she knew we were. She let us live and learn and I’ve always had so much respect and adoration for how she lived life. Then came adult hood and real life struggles. Joyce was by my side the minute she found out our twins were born early. She checked in on me, sent a lovely cookie tray and really became a comfort place for me to talk to someone. After Skyler died – She never turned her back. Always asking how I am and wondering how the littles at home were doing. Every Halloween I would specifically bring the kids over to her house to “get the big candy bars” and have a small chat about life. I feel like Joyce just messaged me asking about my family – even though she was not feeling herself. This really is a shock and my heart breaks for the entire family. My love, thoughts, and prayers will continue to be with all of you – just like she has always done for us!
Daryl and I send love and hugs to you all. She always had a smile when we met and a story to tell that made us both laugh. She was so kind and caring to everyone. You will be missed. Rest in Peace Joyce.

Kal and family, julie and I are sending our condolences to you and your family. It has been awhile since we connected on the ice but I remember Joyce welcoming referees into her home pre and post games as we drove down Hwy 3. Summer BBQs were a hit, Joyce made sure we didn’t leave with an empty stomach. May you cherish the memories.

Grace, I’m so deeply sorry for the loss of your grandma. She was truly one of a kind — the most caring soul with the most infectious laugh, always welcoming everyone with open arms and always thinking of others before herself. She made people feel seen, loved, and at home just by being her.
She was a devoted wife to Kalvin and an incredible mother to Sarah, Kelly, and Tyler, and a loving mother-in-law to Rosalyn. Her love for her family was evident in everything she did, and that love lives on through all of you.
Please know that I’m holding you close in my thoughts and sending you so much love during this incredibly difficult time.
Love always, Ellen and Ken

Kal and family, sending our deepest condolences, it’s been years since we connected on the ice but Joyce always welcomed referees into her home pre and post game while we drove down hwy 3 and hosted summer BBQ always with a friendly smile and lots to eat. May you continue to cherish the memories.
Our family came into a friendship with Joyce just in the last few years… within mere moments of meeting one another, her beautiful and natural way of being truly present, was evident… she was so completely and genuinely interested in getting to know a person … it was all encompassing. Joyce immediately made others feel seen, heard, interesting ….and important. What a gift that is for any human-being to receive from another. Any time we got a chance to get together after that, it always felt like she was giving you a gift…such a rare and special experience that is, in this world. I am forever grateful for any time I had to be with her in this lifetime. Our last visit…a tea party in the hospital…was similar in many ways to our first visit, her energy and focus on making a friend feel important, interesting, cared for and special. She wore a tiara for that tea party, she was a queen…I joked I was her simple and humble servant…essentially her lady-in-waiting… and that I would keep waiting for her to come home, so we could take this tea party to a new level…she smiled the most beautiful smile, just as a queen would…and when it was time for me to go, Joyce waved and blew kisses…again making one feel loved and important. What an incredible and unforgettable soul. My heart is so heavy and hurts for all of you, for all of Joyce’s family and friends… her loss will be felt always…while her incredible spirit will live on through how she undoubtedly made us all feel about ourselves…special, loved and important. -Shan-
