FARR, Lewis Andrew “Andy”. Andy passed away peacefully at home in his 71st year on August 14, 2022. Son of the late Archibald Lewis and Dorys Jean Farr and predeceased by his beloved niece Nicole Farr. Andy will be sadly missed by his step-son Phillip McGuire, and step-daughter Amanda Farr-Kilpatrick, brother David Farr (Donalee Farr), nephew Jacob Farr (Courtney McIntee), great-niece Lily Farr, close friends Todd and Wendy Hines, amongst many other friends and family members.
Andy was a collector of all things, especially things that were vintage, unique, and interesting. He saw value in things that many others would have overlooked. He was also an avid hunter. In his younger days, he joined family friends in their yearly hunting camp.
Andy took a while to form friendships, and when he did, he considered these friends, “friends for life”. Andy was a genuine person who cared deeply about those in his inner circle. His closest friends can attest to the fact that Andy would do anything for them. Andy was also very proud of his family and had a strong connection to his nephew Jacob Farr and niece Nicole Farr, who he affectionately referred to as de’niece and de’nephew. Friends are welcome to join the family for visitation at JW Hart Funeral Home, Dunnville on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. Funeral and Committal Services will be held at the funeral home Friday August 19, 2022 at 11:00 followed by cremation. A social gathering at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall will take place after services on Friday. A private family interment will take place at Lowbanks Cemetery at a later date, online condolences jwhartfuneralhome.com

Condolences to the family
During the summers, many decades ago, my parents would rent the old farmhouse on the Farr’s property. My brother, sister and I spent idyllic days on the farm, at the beach, or going into town in the back of Archie’s pickup truck, for ice cream. David and Andy were a big part of the fun. My parents, Ken and Edna Phillips, remained friends with Archie and Dorys for many years afterwards. I send my deepest sympathy to the Farr family on your loss. May fond memories of Andy, one day replace your sadness.
So sorry to hear about Andy he sure was a good guy. One of the best land Lords ever and many Sunday night meals shared. God Bless .

There are certain people who touch the lives of those they know in a unique way. Knowing them brings us joy, and inspiration.
When they are gone, memories of all they’ve done, stay with us forever.
Andy was one of those individuals. Since we began living on the Farr Road in 1992, Andy became our friend, and we could be safe to say, he was family. He spent many celebrations with us throughout the years, as well as comforted us with our losses. He had a unique sense of humour, was sharp, witty, and had a great hearty laugh. He loved to have a great time. He loved our many dogs through the years, and was always willing, and made himself available to help watch them when we needed, and he comforted us when they passed away. He even adopted our cat Lincoln and cared for her till she passed. She lived like a queen!
Andy had a big heart, and was sensitive to a fault. He was generous and wise. He shared his knowledge of hunting, gardening, tree identification and felling. Todd and he had sawn many logs up that they had cut down on the property. He was a good listener, and a problem solver. He loved to offer advice if asked.
“Let me put it this way.” he would say.
He was a great cook, and made an amazing, delicious GUP. He had an eye for antiques and oddities. He was a great story teller of old times, and old timers. We loved listening to them. There is so much more to say but…
We are so grateful to have known such a special person, and he has made US better persons for that reason. Thank you for everything Andy.

Andy ; I will always remember you as a big hearted guy with a gentle soul. You had some contrary viewpoints at times which made a few eyes roll but that’s ok , if we all thought the same it would be a pretty dull world. You will be missed my friend , not just by family but by all those whose lives you touched. Rest in Peace.
