In Loving Memory of Brent Donald Everets

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brent Donald Everets, who left us on July 5, 2026, at the age of 66.

Brent is now reunited with his loving wife of 43 years, Lynda. He leaves behind his children, Ashley and Nick (Jessica), and his three beautiful granddaughters, Jaclyne, Ally, and Kadence, who were truly the apples of his eye. He cherished every moment spent with them, never missing an opportunity to share his cookies, Cheesies, and give them plenty of love.

Brent was predeceased by his parents, Glen and Irma Everets, and his parents-in-law, Dalton and Jean Lyons. He was a devoted brother to Lyle (Debbie) Everets and was predeceased by his brother, Gord Everets. He was also a cherished brother-in-law to Carolyn (Richard) Schweyer, Lois (Terry) Gurzanski, and Sheila (Ken) Miller, and a proud uncle who will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.

Brent dedicated 30 years of his career as a machinist at Stelco before enjoying retirement and later returning to work part time at DeBoers Machining Ltd. While he took great pride in his work, his true passion was farming. He loved raising Limousin cattle and working the farmland that he and Lynda called home for 37 years. The farm wasn’t just where he lived, it was where he was happiest.

Brent had a love for the simple things that made life meaningful. He was an avid weather watcher who faithfully tracked rainfall and made sure family and friends had rain gauges so they could report their totals for his records. He rarely missed a NASCAR race, cheered on the Toronto Blue Jays through every season, and could often be found listening to classic country music, especially if it included a little yodeling.

Never one to back down from a challenge, Brent loved a little friendly competition. Whether it was the annual family golf tournament or a trap shooting competition, he was always ready to play and even more ready to claim the bragging rights that came with a win.

Those who knew Brent will remember his straight forward nature, his quick wit, and his love for a good laugh. He had a way of teasing the people he loved most, and if you were on the receiving end of his sarcasm or a good nickname, you knew you were part of his circle. His laughter, stories, and ability to find humor in everyday moments with a mix of seriousness will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the incredible love, kindness, and support shown during this difficult time. Your compassion has brought great comfort and will never be forgotten.

A private family funeral will take place, followed by a Celebration of Life at a later date.
