CLARKE, Norman Eugene
July 7, 1959 – January 12, 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Norman Eugene Clarke who passed away peacefully at the Marotta Family Hospital in his 67th year. Norm was predeceased by his parents, Norman (1976) and Violet (2015) Clarke and step-father Albert Huisman (2022). Missing him are his sons Justin and Jeremy, siblings: Larry (Michelle) Clarke, Violet (Ron) Prosser, Valerie (Stan) Posthumus, Lois (Chris) Hagemans, many nieces and nephews and many friends and acquaintances. Being a welder by trade he took great pride in his creations. His intelligence and experience allowed him to make complex and impressive calculations in his head. Being somewhat of a solitary man, he lived life on his own terms. He was quite a character all his life, having many stories to tell about his adventures. Some stories would make you think, make you laugh or make you furrow your brow in wonder but they were always entertaining. He seemed happiest riding his bike along the trails or at the water fishing, especially with his late buddy, Merle. Life wasn’t always kind to him yet he was kind and compassionate in spite of it all. He made friends easily no matter where he went and those who knew him well, loved him. Though time and distance often separated him from those he loved and who loved him, he will be sorely missed. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Marotta Family Hospital in St. Catharines, especially nurse Garrett who in just a day or so knew so much about Norm and his life showing compassionate care for him and our family. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

I will cherish the fond memories that I have of Norm, he was a kind person and his soul shone so bright. He will be incredibly missed at Chestnut Place.
My deepest condolences.
