Eliza Joyce Cavers. (May 11, 2020 – February 8, 2022 ) Far too soon, our sweet baby girl Eliza Joyce Cavers has been taken to heaven. At nearly 21 months old, she died in her parents’ loving arms at McMaster Children’s Hospital.
Eliza passed away on February 8th, 2022 after bravely living with Leigh Syndrome. She is survived by her parents Kevin and Elizabeth, her sister Alicia, her grandparents Dan and Julie Cavers and Margaret Rose, Great Nan Margaret Middleton, Uncle David Cavers (Kathleen), Aunt Alexis Battle (Nathan), Uncle Jeff Battle, Uncle Andrew Rose (Cyndi), and many cousins and extended family. Eliza joins her grandfather, Sig Rose, in heaven.
Eliza will be remembered for her bright blue eyes, dazzling smile, infectious giggle, and fiery red hair. She was happiest when she was snuggling with her mommy or daddy. The family would like to thank the PICU, the Complex Care Team, the QoLA Team, the NICU, Eliza’s doctors, nurses, and supporting staff, and especially Dr. Tarnopolsky, Dr. O’Toole, and Dr. Lim for taking care of Eliza as one of their own. The family would appreciate any donations in Eliza’s name be made to MitoCanada ( https://mitocanada.org/donate/ ) or the McMaster Children’s Hospital Foundation – https://www.hamiltonhealth.ca/donate
