Neil Lawrence Hunter
The Hunter family is deeply saddened to announce the passing of their beloved brother, uncle, and friend, Neil Lawrence Hunter on Friday August 8, 2025.
Born in Dunnville on May 5, 1951, Neil was the second-born and eldest son in a large, rural, and hard-working family. He was a cherished brother to Theresa, Roy, Jack (Gail), and Eric (Gloria). Predeceased by his parents, Larry and Jane Hunter (Smith), as well as his sister Carol and brother Ray.
Neil was a gentle yet strong man who dedicated most of his working life as a butcher for the family business, Hunter’s Dressed Meats, where he worked alongside his brothers for decades. His quiet strength, steady presence, and commitment to his craft left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Even after retirement, he continued to put his knife and steel to good use.
He cherished the company of his close, lifelong friends and found great joy in the relationships he nurtured over the years. Neil will be deeply missed by his many nieces and nephews, who always admired his calm and reassuring nature.
The family warmly invites all to join in a Celebration of Life on Sunday September 7th at the Royal Canadian Legion from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Online condolences jwhartfuneralhome.com
