Nicole Farr
Kind, vibrant, generous, fun, beautiful and full of life, Nicole tragically passed away in a car accident on August 3rd . We are deeply saddened that Nicole was taken from us far too early in life in her 26th year.
Nicole will be forever missed by all those who knew her, but especially by her parents Dave and Donalee Farr, brother Jacob Farr (Courtney McIntee), niece Lily Farr, friend Jarret VandenKieboom, Uncle Andy Farr, Uncle Ken Thomas (Tracy Weaver), cousins Courtlynne and Makenna Weaver-Thomas, along with many more family members and friends.
Nicole was a gentle soul who made friends easily wherever she went due to her infectious personality, caring nature, sense of humour and fun-loving approach to life. She had many lifelong friendships that began in elementary school and lasted throughout her life, which is a testament to how important her friends were to her. Nicole had a passion for photography which began while she was in high school and earned her awards in her local arts community. She also enjoyed taking long walks through the town of Dunnville with her mom, who was also her best friend. Nicole was so excited to become an aunt and loved every minute she spent with her niece Lily. Nicole’s love of animals was a demonstration of her empathetic nature. She not only cared for her own “fur babies”, of which she had many over the years including dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, and fish, but she also was a regular caregiver for her friends’ and neighbours’ animals.

The news of Nicole’s passing knocked me sideways. I grew up with Donalee and she knew she would call her first daughter Nicole. I never met Nicole but she reminded me of my childhood friend in looks and who she was as a young woman: empathetic and a beautiful soul. Dave, Donalee and Jake: The line, “Love is stronger than death.” jumps off the page of a book I am reading. And I think of you, whom Nicole holds most beloved. I think of how even the harsh, brutal realities of Death cannot extinguish Love. How Death’s sting cannot even one iota diminish the Love you and Nicole shared. Neither can Death’s veil come between the Love you and Nicole bear for each other. Such Love does not die with Death. Death cannot impose an expiration date on Love. If anything, Death unveils Love’s truer depth and character. Death nudges Love into its next more heart-expansive season. Still the shock of such a sudden, unforeseen, even tragic death of one so loved, explains the flood of feelings of despair, of brokenness. So if I may quote One much wiser than I, “Blessed are the broken-hearted, for they will find strength.” For it is they that are reminded of a Love that is stronger than Death; of a Love with such depth that it cannot die with death; of a Love with such character it will never leave you alone; especially in times of despair and brokenness. For it is then that Love lifts you up, that Love bears all things, even death. …For the greatest of these is LOVE.
