HART, Roger Wayne. It is with deep sadness that the family of Roger Wayne Hart announces his passing on June 1, 2022 at the age of 80. Taken into the presence of the Lord and completely renewed, Roger is reunited in heaven with his siblings, Marilyn, Sharon, Ron and Lloyd; his parents, Whitney and Shirley; his son, Cam; and former wife, Denny (mother of 5 of his children). Not to be forgotten is Marg Hart (survived by John Hart) who both raised Roger like he was their own.
Roger is survived by his brother Russell Hart (Bonnie), partner Brenda Wilson, children Samara Allan (Ken), Nikki Hernandez (Carlos), Jason Hart (Dani), Marty Hart (Catherine), Corey Mitchell (Evie); grandchildren James, Bryden, Payge, Nolan, Chazz, Solana, Bree Anne, Sean, Quentin, Christina and Erica, and great granddaughter Presley.
Always one who loved to share a smile and a conversation, Roger was gregarious and full of love, willing to give attention to anyone in his path. He loved to joke and make others laugh. He believed in honest, hard-work and continued to work well into retirement age “just because”. His love for all his animals, many of which were rescues, complimented his days with extra happiness. His passion for the Maple Leafs, Blue Jays, and the Browns rang through hallways and streets whenever there was a game on. He was a diehard fan until the very end. And Roger, Dad, Papa, Grandpa…we will be your diehard fans forever. Missing you already.
A Celebration of Roger’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall, Dunnville Legion Hall 1:00 to 4:00 pm on Saturday, June 18, 2022. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Roger’s memory to: PortCares, Heart Niagara, KidSport Ontario or an in-kind donation to Dunnville Minor Hockey or Dunnville Minor Baseball (not tax deductible). Our deepest condolences to Roger’s family and friends. I never had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Hart, but I have been blessed by his daughter Nikki’s gift of friendship. 💕 Nikki shared a story a while back which embodies the personality described in his beautiful tribute.
As I understood the story, Roger was sharing a hospital room with a patient who was in excruciating pain. Roger was extremely empathetic to the poor soul in the bed next to him and desperately tried to provide him comfort. He asked the nurses to please help ease the man’s pain. When the nurses were unsuccessful, Roger took matters into his own hands and called 911! From the hospital! The thought of the dispatcher receiving that call and the nurses reactions, still cracks me up! 😂
May sweet memories of Mr. Hart fill your hearts with some laughter, peace and comfort during this difficult time. 🙏🏾💕

Uncle Roger never called me by my name but instead, always called me “Princess”. I’ll never forget being up north together at Pine Island Lodge. I had a perforated ear drum and was trying to sleep. He sat by my bed and stroked my face until I fell asleep. I felt so comforted and loved! Thanks Uncle Rog! I love and miss you so very much!! Your “Princess” forever and allways XO
My deepest sympathies to the entire family.
