Marg, Geoff, Jenn and family,
Sad to hear of Dan’s passing. Always a happy soul and he always had nice things to say to me, even when perhaps I didn’t deserve it. Many blessing to you and the family in this time. May you find joy and peace in the memories and stories of Dan’s life.

There are no words to express what Dan meant to all of us. They say people may forget what you did or what you said but they will never forget how you made them feel. Whether he was talking to a four year old in the kindergarten or the guy he ran in to at the hardware store, he made you feel important and cared for and heard, As I watched his family over the past few devastating days; the way they support each other, their loving posts on social media, their ability to share their tears with one another and laughter too; its clear that his influence is everywhere, on everything they do. There can be no greater tribute to Dan than his family. And where ever he is, he is looking down and smiling (or making one of his goofy faces) his soul at peace and his legacy secure.
Deepest condolences to you and your family Jenn. Hugs to everyone from a million angels .. love you guys. Your dad was a great man, hold all those memories close …oxoxox

My sincere condolences with Dan’s passing. He was a great principal and was appreciated by staff and students alike. I worked with him at Caledonia Centennial Public school. He loved to laugh and always put great effort into our “Theme Dress up Days”. He was never one to be outdone and the kids loved it. He was always available when needed and a compassionate man. He will be missed.
Jim and I were so sorry to hear of Dan’s passing. Dan was always a warm and welcoming person who made you feel at ease no matter what the situation. Our thoughts are with the family. God Bless
I first met Dan when he visited my Spec Ed class in 1978 in his capacity as Special Education Consultant. In this role, and as my Principal at CCPS I was very fortunate to have him as a mentor and as a friend. Dan cared deeply for students and staff and was always respectful, thoughtful and compassionate towards everyone he came into contact with. He was a professional educator who modelled and guided teachers and peers in best practices within the classroom, the school and board wide. Dan had a profound influence on Special Education programmes and advocating for students with special needs and their families within Grand Erie and beyond. He was a decent and caring man who will be greatly missed. My condolences to Marg, and their children and grandchildren.
Joanne and I were shocked and saddened to hear of Dan’s sudden passing. Our sincere condolences to Marg, Geoff , Jen and families. Dan was the consummate professional educator who will be missed for his leadership and his compassion for all students , especially for those with special needs. Our thoughts are with you.
My deepest sympathies for your family during this time of grief. Enjoy all of the memories you have of him.
Sorry for your loss, deepest condolences to all the family.
So sorry to hear of Dan’s passing. Tom and I had so much fun visiting Dan and Marg years ago in Dunnville for barbecues and water-skiing on the river. Sincere condolences to Marg and the whole family from Ann and I.
I was saddened to hear of Dan’s passing. He was a true friend/colleague for years. His commitment to his staff and students was an example for all. Rest In Peace Good Friend!
Mr Dunnigan was an empathetic superintendent. Early in my career, I was surplus many times. He took the time to contact me directly and to keep me in the Haldimand area close to my family and connections. He made me feel confident in my career choice and reassured me that the surplus designation did not reflect on my teaching ability. The extra time he took to make me feel important and seen was so appreciated and never forgotten.
My condolences to Mrs.Dunnigan and family.
We were saddened to read of Dan’s passing. He was a great individual to work for and with. Our condolences to his whole family.
I wish to extend my deepest sympathy to Marg and family at this sad time. Most sincerely your, Roz Rumball

Dan was my very first Superintendent at the Haldimand Board. My memories of him were always very kind and compassionate at a time when many of us were loosing our jobs. He used a personal approach as calling me by my first name which made me feel like I still mattered.
I am so very sorry for your loss. He was a great man!
