Speer, Allan Ronald ~ March 3, 1943 – July 10, 2015

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing, on Friday, July 10th, 2015 of our beloved Dad, Bompa, brother, father-in-law, uncle, brother-in-law, nephew, cousin and dear friend, Ron Speer. Ron passed away peacefully, surrounded by his children, their partners and his grandchildren at the Georgetown Hospital after a hard-fought brief illness.

We are comforted knowing that Ron, as a creative and talented educator, musician, community advocate, volunteer and committed Baha’i, was able to touch lives, share his warmth and goodness and leave the world a better place for having lived in it. Ron is survived by children Mark, Kim (Peter) and Shannon (Derek), grandchildren Georgia, Libby and Max, sister Shirley Weppler, sister and brother-in-law Shirley and John Greco, cousin Nancy Horne, many nieces, nephews and cousins as well as countless dear friends. Ron is predeceased by his wife Mary Lou Speer and his parents, Allan and Margaret Speer as well as brothers-in-law Dale Weppler, Philip Sabo and Wayne Winger and sisters-in-law Barbara-Ann Winger and Diane Sabo. A private family interment will be held with a public Celebration of Life Memorial to follow in late August.
