Dorothy Jean Minor (nee Hines) January 21, 1926 ~ September 10, 2023
Sadly, we announce the passing of Dorothy Minor Sept 10, 2023 at the Haldimand War Memorial Hospital in Dunnville.
Dorothy Minor, beloved wife of the late Kenneth Minor (1991). Predeceased by her daughter Barbara Snaith (2015). Loving mother of David (Beth). Adored Grandmother of Markana & Kendra Snaith. Dorothy will be Lovingly remembered by her brother Jerry Hines (Barbara) & sister-in-laws Betty Hines, Marlene Hines & Joanne Villeneuve.
Fondly remembered by her special niece Debbie Clark (Hines) as well as many other nieces and nephews. Dear friend & neighbour Lesley Mould, who often shared tea or a glass of wine with Mom. Dianne King and Lynda and Dale Hall for all their help & care while mother struggled at home.
Dorothy lived her entire life in Dunnville. Ken & Dorothy were married in Feb 1952. Together they raised two children in a small house located on the dead-end of Gardener Ave. In 1971 she joined her husband three days a week travelling to their meat shop in Niagara Falls until they retired in 1987. Entering retirement, they would enjoy spending time during the winter at their trailer in Winterhaven Florida. After the death of her husband, Dorothy would fill her time working as the manager of the Barbara Minor School of Dance. She volunteered at the Salvation Army and reignited her passion for bowling by joining the seniors five pin league. She enjoyed playing Bingo & watching her favorite TV shows Wheel of Fortune & Jeopardy. Was an ardent fan of the Toronto Blue Jays & an avid reader of good novels. She loved crossword & jigsaw puzzles. Dorothy was a great baker of Christmas cookies & loved the special times of the season. Easter, Thanksgiving & Christmas dinner with her grand daughters were special to her and were always marked on the calendar. There was always a place at Dorothy’s table.
As per Dorothy’s wishes a private cremation has taken place & a private interment is to follow.
We would like to thank Dr. Bernard & the dedicated staff at the Dunnville Hospital for their loving care. The PSW’s & nurses who came on a weekly basis to care for Dorothy while she continued to stay in her own home. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Dunnville Hospital & Healthcare Foundation. Online condolences jwhartfuneralhome.com

My deepest and heartfelt sympathy to the entire family. Mom and Dorothy were together for a while in the same room at Dunnville HWMH. Mother- now deceased on September 1 – has many photos of herself and “Dot” together in the “good old days”. May they both be at peace in heaven with the rest of “the gang” !
