MacDONALD, Floyd James.
MacDonald, Floyd James. Peacefully, at Extendicare Welland on Friday July 17, 2020 in his 83rd year.
Floyd MacDonald lovingly remembered by his wife Kassie and her children Crystal Parker and Sydney “CJ” Parker. Survived by sons Jim (Sandy), Dave (Stacey), John (Sandra), and by his daughter Elizabeth Dzaman (Bruce). Proud Grandpa and Great Grandpa to many. Sadly missed by his brothers and sisters Donnie (Marietta), June Bider (Bob), Larry (Gwen), Barb White and their families.
Floyd was born in Canfield on April 6, 1938. He enlisted with the Army 1st Canadian Guard and trained in Petawawa. He served in Germany, Cyprus, and Russia as a Machine Gunner and Truck Driver. In Berlin Floyd played hockey with Russia as a peacekeeper and was selected as part of the Honour Guard for the Queen. Following his discharge he became a bartender in Kingston, Ontario. Floyd wanted to put his Army training to use and since there was little work for Machine Gunners in civilian life he made Trucking his career. Floyd was a proud 47 year member of Royal Canadian Legion Br. 142 in Dunnville.
In keeping with Floyd’s wishes and Covid restrictions private cremation has taken place. Online condolences jwhartfuneralhome.com
