Leon Hillmer
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Leon Hillmer at the age of 83, at Haldimand War Memorial Hospital, Dunnville.
His battle with cancer in recent years showed courage in facing life challenges with a smile and stayed strong till the end. Predeceased by his late wife Betty Hillmer of 58 years. Leon will be lovingly remembered by his son Gary (Kim) Grandchildren Mitch and Madalyn (Dustin) and Great grandson Wyatt. Leon will be fondly remembered by his Hillmer and Kenney family.
Leon was an employee of the Ministry Of Transportation for many years as a Mechanic Supervisor. He enjoyed volunteering his time for many events which included acting as Santa for numerous children’s organizations and volunteering at the Dunnville Hospital information desk. He was fond of camping, golfing, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Friends are welcome to join the family in Celebrating Leon’s life at the Royal Canadian Legion , Dunnville on July 8, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Shock hearing the death of Leon. As a cousin he will be missed greatly by our family and many families on the McGurk side of his family.
